Wpdesigner.com Sold to:

Several months ago I had known that Small Potato want to sell WpDesigner.com. I miss it until I read Blogohblog’s post “WPdesigner.com going down the Drain?“. It’s really interesting to know how the selling progress and sold to whom.

Small Potato (previous owner) sells the domain in Sitepoint Marketplace, auction listed on March 12, 2008. And domain wpdesigner.com sold for $66,000.00 to some Polish guy, Pawel Ciszewski, currently reside in Miami Beach, FL. Here’s short information about Pawel Ciszewski:

I’m an online entrepreneur who actively pursues many differenet internet ventures and actively acquire sites that I feel are valuable resources to the Internet and will be profitable long term.

But there’re no significant update and a something new that handled by Pawel Ciszewski (the new owner of wpdesigner.com). Since the last post (March 28, 2008), until now there is no other posts related to Wordpress theme or Wordpress tutorial, there is just a post about announcement to introduce the new owner. So is he a right buyer?, we’ll see later.

But this transaction is really meaningful that the new owner is caring in all about Wordpress such as theme and tutorial. He will keep the blog posts and blog designs as good as they where by Small Potato.

Wordpress 2.5 so far

Written by Samuro on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 in WordPress.

Over 7 days the Wordpress 2.5 is running on. It so far is no problem and even it become faster and easier. I just need to take about two days to learn and adapt with the Wordpress 2.5.

Here’s short information about Wordpress 2.5 that you can find at Wordpress development blog:

WordPress 2.5, the culmination of six months of work by the WordPress community, people just like you. The improvements in 2.5 are numerous, and almost entirely a result of your feedback: multi-file uploading, one-click plugin upgrades, built-in galleries, customizable dashboard, salted passwords and cookie encryption, media library, a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code, concurrent post editing protection, full-screen writing, and search that covers posts and pages.

I am happy and satisfied in using Wordpress 2.5. A lot of change doesn’t make me getting troubles to develop themes and use plugins. Currently I am not use Wordpress 2.5 yet on this blog, but I used it on my other blog. Download Wordpress 2.5 here.

Waiting for Wordpress 2.5 final release

Written by Samuro on Thursday, March 27th, 2008 in Reviews, Technology & Products, WordPress.

March 26, 2008 the second Wordpress 2.5 release candidate released; Wordpress 2.5 RC2. At the Wordpress development blog, Matt updates a bit more of a peek with a short screencast covering the new dashboard and uploader and Release Candidate 2.

I just hear a couple blog posting about Wordpress 2.5 change: EasyWordpress and WeblogToolsCollection, and I guess it will be hard to use Wordpress 2.5. I will get troubles with the theme and plugin compatibility. So I should re-customize many theme and plugin sections.

But I have tried Wordpress 2.5 RC1 and use it in my localhost. The result is not such as what I guess. The new Wordpress version is really give you a sophisticated and ease such as: a customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load.

And how about theme and plugin compatibility?!. Don’t worry about these, because Wordpress doesn’t really change anything core about themes, just added new optional capabilities like Gravatars.

And plugins that work with the admin may require updating to take advantage of the new, cleaner UI in WordPress 2.5. Just deactivate your plugins before upgrading for 2.5 and let the built-in updater notify and give you one-click upgrades to plugins you have installed, assuming the developer is cool and has updated their code for 2.5 already.

The Wordpress 2.5 plugin compatibility community has started to keep a list of which plugins work great and which don’t. It’s worth looking at, so you will get more advantage of the new version.

Ready to take a taste of the new Wordpress?!, just download the Wordpress 2.5-RC2 and try it. ;)
