Choosing an area rug
Most people who purchase area rugs for their homes want them to last a long time. Yes they are a very economical way to decorate a room and certainly are a lot easier to change than wall color or furniture, but it’s not unreasonable to expect them to provide many years or comfort and enjoyment.
Choosing an area rug can be easy and fun. There is a wealth of styles from which to choose. Area rugs can determine a room’s decor – traditional, contemporary, rustic or modern. It can even be a mix of styles with a transitional tone.
You can start with a large rug in the center of the room, and pick colors from the rug to use throughout your room. A new way to use an area rug’s colors is to choose complementary colors, rather than matching colors, in the room. A rug with black or gray tones will really make a statement in a room that is predominantly white. Or try a modern rug with bright colors like violet or yellow to really make a room pop.
