The new Alexa rankings

Last a few weeks I found something strange with my blog Alexa Rank. It’s started by no redirect Alexa url. Sometime I visit my blog by redirecting from Alexa, like this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.bisnis-net.info. But now you will find no-page; “Not Found The requested URL /redirect was not found on this server”.
My Alexa Rank decreases not like usual, it decrease significantly and I have never any experience like this. I guess there is nothing wrong, but several updates of Alexa Rank make me felt it’s really not like usual.
And the answer I found at Alexa announcement page:
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes for several months and are excited to announce that our new Alexa Rankings system is available.
We listened to your suggestions, and we believe that our new rankings system is much closer to what you asked for. We now aggregate data from multiple sources to give you a better indication of website popularity among the entire population of Internet users.
So there is nothing wrong. Alexa just updates their parameter and ranking system. Of course it has aim to make Alexa Rank much closer to what you asked for. For the next future, Alexa will constantly working to ensure that provides the most useful. We will continue to fine tune our algorithms but don’t foresee any additional big changes.
Alexa aggregates data from multiple sources to give you a better indication of website popularity among the entire population of Internet users. So the Ranking system is not only measured by Alexa Toolbar, but there are numerous factors.
