Waiting for Wordpress 2.5 final release
March 26, 2008 the second Wordpress 2.5 release candidate released; Wordpress 2.5 RC2. At the Wordpress development blog, Matt updates a bit more of a peek with a short screencast covering the new dashboard and uploader and Release Candidate 2.
I just hear a couple blog posting about Wordpress 2.5 change: EasyWordpress and WeblogToolsCollection, and I guess it will be hard to use Wordpress 2.5. I will get troubles with the theme and plugin compatibility. So I should re-customize many theme and plugin sections.

But I have tried Wordpress 2.5 RC1 and use it in my localhost. The result is not such as what I guess. The new Wordpress version is really give you a sophisticated and ease such as: a customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load.
And how about theme and plugin compatibility?!. Don’t worry about these, because Wordpress doesn’t really change anything core about themes, just added new optional capabilities like Gravatars.
And plugins that work with the admin may require updating to take advantage of the new, cleaner UI in WordPress 2.5. Just deactivate your plugins before upgrading for 2.5 and let the built-in updater notify and give you one-click upgrades to plugins you have installed, assuming the developer is cool and has updated their code for 2.5 already.
The Wordpress 2.5 plugin compatibility community has started to keep a list of which plugins work great and which don’t. It’s worth looking at, so you will get more advantage of the new version.
Ready to take a taste of the new Wordpress?!, just download the Wordpress 2.5-RC2 and try it. ![]()
